Julio Taquechel (b. 1955, Havana, Cuba) is a Miami-based painter whose abstract works emerge from a deeply intuitive dialogue with nature. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, he creates fluid compositions that evoke landscapes, water, forests and organic forms without depicting them literally. Each painting develops through a process that embraces movement, chance and control, resulting in luminous surfaces and unique visual experiences.
